The first session of this workshop will instruct students in how to prepare their yarn for natural dyeing including skeining, scouring, and mordanting. The second session will instruct students in the processes of dyeing, overdyeing, drying, and formatting their dyed skein back into a ball. Wool yarn will be provided and included in the price of the workshop. Students will also gain foundational knowledge of how natural dyes work and how to source their own natural dye materials.
