Service Description
Join Molly for this introductory workshop for all ages on the craft of natural dyeing! This is a 2 part workshop. During the first session you will learn how to prepare your fabric for dyeing, how to source natural dyes from everyday produce, and we will discuss the history and science of natural dyes. During the second session you will learn how to extract dye compounds, how to create patterns with resist methods (similar to tie-dye), how to over-dye, and finally how to dye your own fabric. A set of 4 cotton napkins will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring 1 supplementary item to dye. This item must be 100% cotton. Molly is excited to share her knowledge and skills with you! Registration is required for each participant, however a limited number of sibling scholarships are available for families registering multiple children.
